Nintendo is getting into the interactive figurine craze pioneered by the Skyalnders franchise with Super Smash Bros. for the Wii U console. The first wave of Amiibo figures hits next month, and wave two hits the shelves in December. All together, 18 figures will be released for the holidays. Looking ahead to wave three and beyond, here are the top characters I would like to see released next. The good news is that Nintendo plans to release all the characters on the roster. I hope this includes characters that will be added later via DLC. Considering how much I love the Nintendo brand and characters, as well as collecting figurines like this, I will be eager to part with some cash for specific characters.

HONORABLE MENTION: Jigglypuff

It is not a Smash Bros. game without an appearance by the immortal Jigglypuff. Pikachu is featured in the first wave of Amiibo figures. Jigglypuff will need to have a figure as well to keep fellow Pokemon Pikachu some company.

5. Pac-Man

Pac-Man’s inclusion is one of the coolest and most fun reveals for Super Smash Bros. Wii U. I especially like how the design team interpreted Pac-Man’s look for the game, and I would love to own a figure of this particular version of Pac-Man.

4. Falco

Wave one of the Amiibo figures features Fox McCloud of the Star Fox franchise, so I would like to see his comrade Falco Lombardi get his own figure. Star Fox is a franchise near and dear to my heart, so it would be especially nice to get some new figurines of the characters for Smash Bros.

3. Bowser

Waves one and two of the Amiibos feature Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach and Yoshi. So how about throwing in Mario’s archenemy in there as well? My other hope is that Bowser would be a super-sized figurine.

2. Sonic the Hedgehog

A fighting game with Mario, Mega Man, Pac-Man and Sonic the Hedgehog as playable characters is absolutely epic. Equally epic is Nintendo’s creation of its own line of interactive figurines for the Smash Bros. franchise. So, that means Sonic will have to get his own figurine for the game. Make it happen, Nintendo.

1. Mega Man

I am most excited about the appearance of Mega Man in Smash Bros., so hopefully he gets his own figure sooner rather than later. I imagine since the character is already appearing in the game, the licensing issue with Capcom will not be a problem. I like Mega Man’s redesign for the game, so I am looking forward to owning a 3D version of the Blue Bomber.
