Intrauterine devices or “IUD’s” are common contraceptive devices used by women across the world. Shaped like a small T, these devices are typically 99% effective for preventing unplanned pregnancies.

For the vast majority of women, IUD’s are harmless. Some women can even use them for up to 10 years without any problems whatsoever.

However, for the 1% of women who do experience problems while using an IUD, the outcome can be very serious. In some cases, women have suffered from complicated ectopic pregnancies, permanent organ damage, and miscarriage.

Many women have fought back by filing class-action lawsuits against famous IUD brands like Mirena and Paragard. In one Paragard lawsuit, eligible women are entitled to lost wages, pain and suffering, and medical expenses incurred as a result of IUD failure.

U.K. Doctors Shocked at Pharmacy Grad’s Unplanned Pregnancy

One of the latest cases of a failed IUD incident involves a recent pharmacy graduate, Megan, from the United Kingdom.

Despite the successful use of her IUD for the past four years, Megan still unexpectedly became pregnant.

Doctors were just as confused as Megan was. One doctor thought that perhaps the IUD had broken or slipped out of place. However, after an ultra-sound and further investigation, they found that it was in perfect condition.

Megan went on to give birth to a healthy baby. However, Megan’s life completely changed and she had to give up her working fellowship and move back home.

American Woman Becomes Pregnant With Paragard

Another famous instance of a woman becoming pregnant while using an IUD is Nichole from Tennessee.

In a shocking video released on her family’s YouTube channel, Nichole shared her story of getting pregnant while using Paragard.

Just like Megan, Nichole’s IUD had previously been working for the past three years. However, she still somehow was able to become pregnant. At first, doctors thought she may have an ectopic pregnancy. However, after 20+ ultrasounds, Megan was told her pregnancy was normal and she went on to give birth to her fifth child.

Nichole’s YouTube video serves as a warning to women using IUD’s. She wanted women to understand that even though the risk of becoming pregnant is very low, it can still happen.

Luckily for Megan and Nichole, both mother and baby were able to survive this extremely unlikely scenario.

Paragard Lawsuit: What You Need to Know if You’ve Been Affected

If you are like Nichole or Megan and experienced an unplanned pregnancy while using Paragard, you may be eligible for compensation.
