With the majority of musicians and entertainment professionals struggling to find work amid the ongoing pandemic, a few lucky music producers have been kicking in some cash selling beats online.

The idea of selling beats and other audio assets on the internet is not new though. In fact, you may already be familiar with how popular song creation services are, and chances are you may have already received a personalized song gift. For years, there have existed marketplaces such as Beatstars, Airbit and SoundClick that allowed producers to lend their backing tracks and instrumentals to artists to sing their own lyrics to in exchange for an agreed amount of royalties. This practise has been popular for both indie artists and big record labels.

However, a new alternative known as Gemtracks has just landed and is changing the way how beats are traded.

Unlike other marketplaces, the beats on Gemtracks are only sold once. This means the buyer becomes the new and only owner of the track they purchase. The master ownership and copyright are also transferred to them. With these reasons, sellers have been able to label their prices up to $699 for each track.

There is already a handful of world renown producers and DJs selling on Gemtracks, including Jesse Neo, Beowülf, I.Y.F.F.E, Lucas Gold and Milana Leybovich to name a few. Many of them are making more than several thousands of dollars each week, and this amount is increasing.

Of course, the downside is that the producers are faced with the dilemma that if the beats they sell become a worldwide success, they won’t be able to get a pie of the earnings. However, many producers have expressed they are willing to accept a bigger one-time payment than play hopeful that one of their beats will become a hit.

This also makes it easier for the artist as they don’t have to worry about accounting the composers in their revenue.

Gemtracks currently houses all genres of music from pop, rock, rap, country and even jazz. Many of the beats are created with trending styles to ensure they will be well received in the market. Of course, there are also some oldies to target fans of a few decades back.

“We are actually seeing a huge influx in traffic,” said Kai, a representative of Gemtracks. “This is in terms of both producers and individuals. Due to the popularity, we are working on a new feature to allow customers to book recording studios too. Our goal is to turn Gemtracks into a one-stop venue for musicians anywhere in the creative journey to make money and collaborate with each other. We are always looking for new producers to work with, and new customers to serve.”

Besides buying and selling beats, Gemtracks also contains educational resources to help aspiring musicians make it in the industry. Everything from guides, artist databases and free loops are available on the website. They are all complimentary and free to access.

If you are a producer looking to make some extra income, head over to Gemtracks now.

Or, if you are an artist looking to buy pop beats or buy hip hop beats, Gemtracks should be your first stop if you really want to make it in the music industry.
