BROWARD COUNTY, FL – This week Chad Klitzman received damaging blowback from a coalition of many Broward County Democratic women voters after his campaign sent out a mail piece with sexist attacks. A social media storm exploded on Facebook condemning Klitzman for “slut shaming” his opponent, a woman, in the county’s race for Supervisor of Elections.
The backfire is another fatal blow to Klitzman, a 26-year-old recent college grad with no prior public office, budgetary nor any real leadership experience. As voters went to the polls during the final weekend of Early Voting, they were made aware of Klitzman’s sexist attacks against one of his women opponents.
Across social media, women commented: “Chad has officially lost my vote” and “We have a woman running for Vice President right now and that means any woman can run for any office.”
Bullying candidates isn’t new in politics; but the nasty mailer against a woman isn’t playing well for the young Klitzman who’s hoping to win over Broward’s Democratic voters. This isn’t the only time Klitzman has been called out for his campaign tactics. Recently, voters were made aware of the lack of experience Chad Klitzman had and how he is unprepared to run an executive office. He has been exaggerating his resume to inflate his credentials.
Klitzman, many believed, attacked one of his opponent’s sexual history as a way to distract voters from his own lack of experience and credentials. This shameful act shows poor judgement and has Klitzman losing support and votes in the final days before the election.
Rather than focusing on himself Klitzman directed voter attention on the objectification of women with Trump-style campaign tactics.
