Some people just have “it”; charisma, a positive vibe, and contagious energy. Using natural charm and extensive skills, this Orlando native is taking the DJ-ing in the clubs and radio air waves by storm. DJ Xclusive City, with a musically inclined family history, has dreams of not only wowing a stage but changing the DJ experience.
DJ Xclusive City was born in Providence, Rhode Island with both of his parents in a Haitian-American based household along with his brothers and sister. As a kid, he would watch as his father and uncles rocked the 1990s with their Haitian based band that gained enough momentum to be acknowledged by other top Haitian bands like T-Vice, Carimi, Zin and Alan Cave just to name a few. At a young age, Xclusive resonated with the “backstage” part of music and inherited the business aspect from both his father and his uncles. Being his father’s biggest fan, Xclusive City knew that he would entertain the stage, as well.
It is often hard to stand out as a DJ because most people do not think of DJs as “artists”, a term aptly used to describe musicians, singers, and celebrities. But Xclusive City has taken it upon himself to stand out in a crowd, quite literally. He isn’t just known for wearing signature “Beloved” apparel on every stage, but for kicking up the stage in a different way. Xclusive uses “open format” to entertain as well as witty commentary, hosting abilities, and electric energy on stage. He is often seen interacting, dancing, moving, singing along, and just having tons of fun. These particular aspects of his performance make him the sought after DJ for headlining and performing at nationally recognized events and venues.
He credits kicking off the first two shows for iHeartRadio’s Orlando Hip-Hop and R&B station 104.5 The Beat as a major jump start in his journey. Since then, his talents and expertise have given him the opportunity to open the stage, as a DJ, for other popular music stars such as: 50 Cent, Ludacris, Nas, Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion, DaBaby, Pop Smoke, Tory Lanez, Plies, Nas, Wale, Maxwell, Biggg Slim, Dope Truth and Manny Solo; not to mention the major events he is associated with.
DJ Xclusive City, quick-forward to the present, is one of the city’s top DJs. He gained a stage name in the clubbing world and became a star. Shortly after joining 104.5 The Beat (WTKS) and iHeartRadio, with his very own show, not just as a DJ but as a Radio Personality. He appeared on Wild n Out of MTV, NFL 2020 Pro Bowl, Hello Newmans of Overtime, Diddy’s Revolt TV in LA, Miami Revolt Music Conference and VH1’s Master of the Mix. Xclusive City is also the official DJ for various events, sporting championships and major music festivals such as the Orlando Magic in the NBA as well as Jr. NBA for the past few years. Xclusive wows crowds but he can also market for business, landing gigs sponsored by some big names, including Hennessy, McDonald’s, JBL, Bose, Curls, Rane, Hpnotiq, Diesel, Culture Centric, BeBe, Puma Shoes, Jimmy Jazz, and Pull-in. When he isn’t traveling, you can find Street performing regularly in Hampton Roads area nightclubs. His most recent residency at Mango’s Tropical Cafe, recognized as one of the Top 100 nightlife clubs in the Country, as well as The Beacham, Ember, Vyce Lounge, EVE, DoveCote, LUXE Events, Afro Love: The Afrobeat Day Party at Celine Orlando, Voila Lifestyle: Kompa Day Party and Kiss N Tell at Rum Jungle and the list goes on. Aside from all the major events, he actively performs for charities and rallies for causes, sharing his gift of music with the masses.
So many things have “shut down” due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, but DJ Xclusive City sure hasn’t. During this free time, he is taking advantage of various platforms to promote himself, his brand, and his skill. He has hosted numerous virtual events to practice new techniques and stay engaged with his vast fan base. While it may not be on the scale he is accustomed to, DJ Xclusive City is moving forward and not looking back.
