Over the years, Blizzard has added many features to improve World of Warcraft. Some of these features are uniquely ideas from Blizzard, while others are things from other games that Blizzard has tweaked to make them work in WoW. Regardless of how they came to be, Blizzard always does a good job of adding new features to make their old MMO feel new again. With this in mind, I have spent quite a bit of time thinking about some features that I feel would greatly enhance the game.

#5: Observer Mode: WoW is easily the biggest MMORPG currently. However, this popularity has not translated into it becoming successful as an eSport. A big reason for this is the difficulty that players have with observing and casting high level games. Though it is possible to put on tournaments through the War Games feature, if Blizzard reworked Arena’s and added an Observer Mode so players can watch their friends play easily, it could spark a little more interest into competitive PvP.

#4: More “Mini Games”: Not sure if I am alone, but I honestly think Pet Battles are one of the single greatest things to be added to WoW. MMO’s are characterized as being extremely grindy, with players only wanting to spend time on things that improve their character. With this mind set, the games start to feel like a job rather then a game. Adding small more mini games like Pet Battles, whether they involve our beloved pets, or are a completely new idea, will give players content that they can do and just have fun with.

#3: More World PvP: Many players have been screaming for Blizzard to bring back World PvP, and until recently I had not been one of them. Though I played in Burning Crusade, I was never a serious PvPer, so my experience with World PvP was the lame “PvP” zones Blizzard made in WotLK and Cata. The problem I had with these, is they are basically just instances, I did not feel like I was fighting in the world anymore then I do in WSG. What changed my mind mind however, was the new PvP objectives that came in Patch 5.1. What makes these great, I feel is that they are not timed, and they are not overly rewarding. With Wintergrasp and zones like it, it was almost required for everyone to do. Thus making it feel like an instance. With these objectives it is more spontaneous, which I feel is what people want from world PvP.

#2: LFR for Old Raids: Similar to the last point, people always dream about going back to see older raid content, but it has never been implemented. Yet, I feel like Blizzard has the technology with the gear scaling from Challenge Modes, and the boss tuning from LFR to allow players to run through old raids. Sure, they will not be like they used to be, since they need to be done with a group of PuGs, and some things might be weird, for instance, Death Knights in Burning Crusade raids. These concerns though are minor, it is not like this will be huge content, just something for people to do when bored, and want to see raid content they never got to see.

#1: Solo Queue PvP: This is honestly a feature I am baffled is not yet in World of Warcraft. Sure players are able to queue for battlegrounds by themselves but what about Arenas? You may think, it won’t be fair because some teams will have a better composition? But what if they added a role system like dungeons, where each team will have three DPS and two healers. Sure, the other team might still have better players or classes, but that is the risk you run of Arenas by your self. They point is, I don’t see a reason NOT to have the ability to have a Solo Queue system in place for Arenas.
