Do you have a bunch of family photos on your wall? Maybe you have photos along the hallways or in the living room. It’s wonderful to see all the faces of your loved ones while you walk through the house, but don’t forget to add photos of your pets, too.

Your pets are more than just animals – they’re family. Pets are exceptionally loyal, and they give us unconditional love. As such, they deserve to be included in your family photo collages and the photos you put on your walls.

 1. A pet portrait will look great above the fireplace

If you have a fireplace, why not put a large canvas print of your pet right above it on the wall? This is something only true pet lovers would do, and it’s sure to add more personality to your living room.

When it comes to décor, your favorite pet deserves a spot front and center in your living room. Your fireplace is ideal, but you can put pet photos anywhere on your walls and even in frames on top of furniture.

2. Photos are a great way to honor pets who have passed

Pets who have passed will always hold a special place in our hearts, and you can honor them by putting up their photos in your home. The heart never forgets, but over time, sometimes the mind does forget. When you decorate your home with photos of pets that have passed, you’ll never forget what they looked like and you’ll be reminded of all the silly things they did while you were together.

Basic photos of your pets who have passed on are good, but you can take it one step further and have fun portraits painted of your pets that look like they’re wearing 17th-century attire. This is a fun way to remember them and make your house guests smile.

3. Pets are absolutely family

If you love your pets, you know they’re part of the family. They may not be able to speak English and enjoy a deep conversation with you in the backyard, but they provide an endless supply of unconditional love and affection. That makes them family.

If you have family photos on your wall that exclude your pet, start adding in some of their photos. Get a few framed individually or work some pet photos into your existing collage frames. Start filling the spaces on your wall with photos of your pets so you can smile when you see them just like when you see photos of your human family.

4. Kids love seeing photos of their pets

If you have kids, they’ll love seeing photos of their favorite pets on the wall. They might even want some photos for their bedroom. Kids share a special bond with their pets, especially with dogs and cats, because they tend to be the most affectionate. If you need a good reason to put photos of your pets on the wall, do it for your kids. They’ll enjoy it the most.

5. You’re a “crazy cat person”

If you or your friends consider you a “crazy cat person” then you need to have photos of your cats on the wall. If you’re short on space or unsure where to start, your bathroom is a great place to showcase your favorite cat photos.

If you have more than one bathroom, do each one in a different style with your pet photos. For instance, dedicate one bathroom to photos of your cat and another to photos of your dog. Then get bathroom décor, like shower curtains and bath mats to match each theme.

Start adding your pets to your family photo collections

Your pets are just as much family as anyone else and they deserve to be included in family photo collages and décor you put on your wall. They might never know they’re being included, but having their photos on the wall will make you smile a little more while you’re at home.
