In my last Essential Youtube Gamers,  I discussed two great entertainers who have the ability to make me laugh as well as simultaneously proud to be a gamer. The two youtube gamers I’ll be sharing with you today have the exact same tendency, and it fills my heart with hope for the gaming community, be it in a humor, gaming theory or even a business regard.

Egoraptor      Big ego, big heart.

I first discovered Egoraptor years ago on Newgrounds.com, in the form of his highly hilarious creation ‘Metal Gear Awesome’. If you haven’t seen it already, firstly, why the hell not? And secondly, it’s a short animation made in flash parodying the Metal Gear series (if that wasn’t obvious enough already).

Since then, Egoraptor has gone on to create a lot more of the ‘Awesome’ series, all of which are equally as awesome. Badum tish!

Speaking of failing as an intelligent writer with lots of integrity, Egoraptor certainly does not. Even without a great understanding of whatever it may be he is parodying, you’re sure to enjoy the quirky animation and quick wit.

Still looking for incentive to check out Egoraptor’s stuff? Would it help if I told you that he has recently collaborated with many other youtube sensations such as JonTron. In fact, JonTron and Egoraptor now have a shared channel called ‘Game Grumps’, where they play games together whilst just being their funny selves.

My favourite series by Egoraptor would have to be the ‘Sequelitis’ series in which Egoraptor discusses sequels, good or bad, and breaks them down, game-theory style. Somehow, whilst putting across his point, he still has me laughing at every little joke. It’s an admirable quality and shows a passion for gaming and sharing that passion with anyone and everyone.

Did You Know Gaming Mind. Blown.

Did You Know Gaming has risen in popularity extremely quickly in the past year or so, starting off as quite a humble project, filling gamers in on some really interesting fun-facts about popular series of games.

When Did You Know Gaming first started, they were simple images as opposed to videos, which no doubt contributed to their quick spread around the internet, with Reddit leading the charge.

Since they relocated their base to Normalboots.com, they have seen great success, pushed along by none other than Jontron and his loyal gang of gamers. The latest Did You Know Gaming is also voiced by Egoraptor.

Did You Know Gaming has an incredibly internet-safe formula. By that I mean: They are relatively short, concise, clear and do not require a whole lot of time or even an attention span. All you need is an understanding and love for the game series in question, which isn’t hard considering the popular series’ the youtube series covers.

Like Pokemon, Starfox or the Legend of Zelda? There’s something for you. Don’t like any of those series? I wouldn’t worry; new episodes are released regularly, with each one improving on the last (at least in terms of production), so that soon you’ll really have no excuses at all to not check out the series.
