Batman’s TV Series “Gotham” Gets Its First Trailer

Fan of Batman?

Well, Fox will make you happy with the upcoming TV series Gotham.

This post is all about the new trailer that they released and we want you to see it.

Before we get to it, let’s briefly look what Gotham is all about.

About Gotham TV Series

This pilot will show the young Bruce Wayne, before his transformation into Batman.

Also…

“GOTHAM is an origin story of the great DC Comics super villains and vigilantes, revealing an entirely new chapter that has never been told. From executive producer/writer Bruno Heller (“The Mentalist,” “Rome”), GOTHAM follows one cop’s rise through a dangerously corrupt city teetering on the edge of evil and chronicles the birth of one of the most popular superheroes of our time.

GOTHAM is based upon characters published by DC Comics and is produced by Warner Bros. Television. Executive producer Bruno Heller (“The Mentalist”) wrote the pilot, which will be directed and executive-produced by Emmy Award nominee Danny Cannon (the “CSI” series, “Nikita”) “ – FOX.com

In the trailer below, we see Ben McKenzie (The O.C., Southland) say “I promise you, I will find the man who did this,” to Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) after the murder of his parents.

The clip will show us how Gordon struggles to resolve the murder of Wayne’s parents – Thomas and Martha Wayne.

The cast will be pretty interesting too. The Catwoman role is played by Camren Bicondova, The Riddler by Cory Michael Smith, Robin Lord Taylor plays Penguin, Clare Foley is Poison Ivy, and Jada Pinkett Smith shows up as villain too. She will be playing a nightclub owner, called Fish Mooney.

Interesting enough is the fact that we can see the well-known villains The Penguin and Poison Ivy, before their “prime.”

Ok, lets see the video now:

Did you like it?

As you can notice, Batman is only the vehicle for the story about Gotham City and the police man.

I’ve spotted a trend recently…it seems like well known stories, get a new spin i.e. they shift the focus from the main character (read superhero) to the supporting character, retelling the story from their angle.

Do you find this amusing?
