It has taken quite a long time, but 2K Games and WWE finally released the first trailer for WWE 2K15. This is the first official gameplay trailer that has been released for the game that is due out next month for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. I still maintain that 2K Games waited too long to release a trailer; but it was good to finally see one for the game.

The new trailer provides players with the first look at Sting’s in-game model for WWE 2K15. Sting is really the star of the entire game. His inclusion was a tremendous coup for 2K Games, Visual Concepts and the WWE. WWE 2K15 marks the first official appearance of Sting in a WWE video game. Although Sting’s actual status with WWE as a wrestling personality is up in the air, it is great to finally see Sting again in a modern wrestling video game. The clip with Sting features the wrestler in his Crow-gimmick garb. However, the outfit does not resemble the promotional image of Crow Sting released by 2K Games. That image resembled Sting circa 1997-1998. The model of Crow Sting shown in the clip looks similar to his post-2000 look. I am really just looking forward to playing as classic Sting in his beach blonde, surfer, wildman gimmick phase.

The video does confirm Rusev. To the best of my knowledge, WWE Superstar Rusev, formerly Alexander Rusev, has not yet been announced. I hope this also means that the Bulgarian Brute’s manager and valet, the luscious Lana, will be a non-playable character in the game. Rusev is a great addition for the game, and I am happy to see he made it onto the roster.

The trailer reinforces much that we already know. The game’s revamped character models, animations and entrances look fantastic. Even facial expressions and reactions look more improved, dynamic and intricate. Some of the character models did not look as good as others and appear like they need some more polish. Of course, Triple H appears to have the best-looking character model. It would not surprise me to see the Internet wrestling community (IWC) make some bones about that. I played the demo at GameStop Expo, and the animation and graphics are stunning. These are probably the best aspects of the new game. However, the rough grappling and gameplay makes me very concerned the game is being rushed for the holiday release.

WWE 2K15 hits the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on October 28. The game will hit PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on November 11.
