WWE 2K15 Season Pass Reveals and Breakdown

WWE 2K15

2K Games revealed that WWE 2K15 will have a Season Pass available. That is not so surprising, but the announcement did come with some good news. WWE Diva and former Divas champion Paige will be a part of the game. Players who pre-order the WWE 2K15 Season Pass will receive Paige as an exclusive downloadable content character. So, let us go over the details of the Season Pass.

Paige is a great addition to the roster, considering she was not official for the game until the Season Pass announcement was made. It is a bit annoying that she has is a Season Pass exclusive. However, I imagine this is a timed exclusive, same as with Sting. Therefore, players will still be able to purchase the likes of Paige and Sting later on; but they will only be available for free with the pre-order of the game and the Season Pass.

GameStop revealed that the Season Pass is priced at $24.99. The price does seem a bit steep for a season pass, considering players already have to plunk down over $60 for a new game. However, at least GameStop is offering a 20% discount for the Season Pass. The description also mentions three 2K Showcase Add-On Packs. 2K Games had already revealed that the game’s story mode, 2K Showcase, will feature more feud additions later on via DLC. The two 2K Showcase feuds available at launch are John Cena vs. CM Punk and Triple H vs. Shawn Michaels.

The season pass guarantees there will be at least three more classic feuds for the 2K Showcase mode. What those feuds will be is anyone’s guess. However, considering this is the first WWE video game to feature Sting, I would really like some sort of throwback WCW feud involving Sting. Ric Flair is already official for the game, so why not Ric Flair vs. Sting? Flair and Sting had one of the all-time great feuds that defined WCW history. It was well documented on the Best of Sting DVD released by WWE. A 2K Showcase mode involving Sting and Flair would be a great incentive for old school WCW and Sting fans to pick up the game and give it a look. What does it matter for WWE to promote WCW when WWE owns the trademark and WCW’s entire tape library?

One can assume additional wrestlers, arenas, and alternate attires will also be a part of the Season Pass. Those details have not yet been revealed. Regardless, I am happy to see that Paige will be in the game. The WWE 2K15 roster is definitely shaping up to be one of the craziest, most in-depth WWE game rosters ever.

WWE 2K15 hits the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on October 28. The game will hit PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on November 18.

  1. Paige is exclusive to the season pass and like every year before will stay that way. Sting and the 2 versions of Hogan WILL be timed exclusives and make their way to paid DLC later (it’s already been stated about this). A Sting feud for the DLC isn’t really possible as not everyone will have Sting since he himself is DLC.. although technically I’m sure he’s actually on the disk and they could still have him playable in that mode and not in other modes unless you have him (like Ultimate Warrior last year).. but that would kind of piss people off I’m sure.
