2015 is nearly upon us, and I am looking forward to quite a few original Xbox One game titles. The price drop came at a good time because there are a number of new, exclusive titles being released for the Xbox throughout next year. I have ranked the ones that I anticipate the most.

5. Crackdown Xbox One

I was really happy to see that Crackdown will make a return for the Xbox One. The announcement trailer makes me think that the game will provide a lot more opportunities for more co-op play and mayhem. The 2015 release is not yet official, but it is possible. So, I am marking the Xbox One Crackdown game on my list. The older Crackdown games were fun, but I am curious to see what the developers will do with the next-gen technology in terms of the open-world sandbox and new special abilities.

4. Fable Legends

Fable goes next-gen with Fable Legends. The environments look gorgeous and beautifully designed. I really like how the co-op gameplay is shaping up. Playing as the main villain and orchestrating the obstacles the heroes face looks interesting. I cannot wait to check out Fable Legends.

3. Halo 5: Guardians

[youtube url=”http://youtu.be/Qe5iGKfl_ws”]

Halo 5: Guardians looks to be an epic game, and the game’s release will be an epic event. The release will likely be the most massive Halo ever, alongside a new digital feature produced by Ridley Scott and a TV series produced by the Beard himself, Steven Spielberg. While showcasing the next chapter of the journey of longtime Halo protagonist, Master Chief, Halo 5: Guardians will also feature a new playable hero, Jameson Locke. I am curious to see if perhaps, Chief’s story is coming to a close and whether Locke will become the new fixture of the main Halo franchise.

2. Rise of the Tomb Raider

For the time being, Crystal Dynamics is developing the next installment of the rebooted Tomb Raider franchise, Rise of the Tomb Raider, exclusively for Xbox One and Xbox 360. There is a great deal of talk of it being a “timed exclusive,” but any type of release on the Sony consoles would not happen until 2016 at the earliest. Regardless, after the tremendous job Tomb Raider did rebooting the franchise, I cannot wait to play the next game as Lara Croft continues her evolution.

1. Quantum Break

[youtube url=”http://youtu.be/6XOj2ZwE6_Y”]

Each new video I see for Quantum Break gets me more and more amped up and excited. I love the use of cinematic storytelling, but also gameplay. The premise by which the protagonist, Jack Joye, uses “time” as a weapon is interesting. Plus, the game has some good-looking third-person shooter mechanics. I really hope Remedy Entertainment nails the story and that the game is not a letdown because it looks fantastic.
