The release of Just Cause 3 is coming closer, and more details and images are coming out for the next-gen installment of the franchise. Square Enix recently revealed an abundance of new screenshots of the video game via Game Informer. Some impressive looking artwork previously came out for the game. The new screenshots offer a more enticing look of what is in store for Just Cause 3. It looks like an even more ridiculous level of outrageous stunts, outlandish action and explosive mayhem will be featured in Just Cause 3. I can hardly wait.

The graphical and visual improvements for the game look absolutely massive. In the last year, I have been a tad underwhelmed with how some exclusive next-gen titles do not seem to fully embrace the look and capabilities of the new generation of game consoles. Based on the screenshots, it appears that Just Cause 3 will not be one of those games. The newer upcoming next-gen consoles make me very excited about the possibilities for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Chief among them are the likes of Batman Arkham Knight and Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Just Cause 3, and the freedom in the amount of pure chaos it allows the player is another one of those titles.

Just Cause 3 is enjoyable due to the freedom the game grants to the player. The game allows the player to assume the starring role in his/her own big budget, high-octane, machismo-laden action movie. The screenshots show protagonist Rico Rodriguez climbing onto the roof of a sports car while it is in some type of free fall in midair. Another image has Rico Rodriguez sailing on his grappling hook above an exploding fireball. In another impression, Rodriguez hitches a ride on a flying gas tank. Does any of this make sense in terms of the laws of physics? No. Does that matter? Absolutely not. It is typical of any crazy stunt not making sense in a typical favorite Arnold Schwarzenegger or Sylvester Stallone action movie. Generally, audiences just accept it and enjoy the ride. In Just Cause 3, it looks like the playground and sandbox for players have gotten even bigger and more ambitious. In addition, the vehicular combat seems even more intense with tanks, attack choppers and more ways for Rico to cause mayhem.

Since a sizable chunk of images have been released for the games, I hope Avalanche does not wait too much longer to show off some actual footage for the upcoming game. Just Cause 3 is scheduled for a 2015 release. The game is being developed for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC.
