HONORABLE MENTION: Mario vs. Donkey Kong Wii U

I am happy to see a new installment of the Mario vs. Donkey Kong series making its way to the Wii U later this year. I love the cute wind-up toy designs. The gameplay is very refined but depicts a very classic look and style.
5. Mario Party 10

The Mario Party franchise makes its epic debut for the Nintendo Wii U. Not only that, but the game makes its landmark 10th entry in the franchise this year. The Mario Party series always offers hours of group fun and play. The new Mario Party edition is great news for the Wii U this year.
4. Yoshi’s Woolly World

Yoshi gets to star in his own adventure again with a fun and unique design style. The game evokes a similar vibe to Kirby’s Epic Yarn, another game I really enjoyed. Yoshi’s Island is an old favorite of mine. If this game can be half as good, Yoshi’s Woolly World should be very satisfying.
3. Kirby and the Rainbow Curse
[youtube url=”http://youtu.be/RqEOsvTmcoE”]
I really enjoyed Kirby: Canvas Curse for the Nintendo DS. Kirby and the Rainbow Curse looks like a spiritual sequel to that game, but it brings the stylus-based gameplay to the Wii U console. I enjly the characters and world of the Kirby series, so I am happy to see those adventures continue Wii U in this style. The game looks simple, effective and fun. The game will be compatible with Amiibos to provide Kirby with some fun power-ups.
2. Star Fox Wii U
Star Fox makes its glorious return and debut for the Wii U later this year. It has been far too long since there has been a new, classic Star Fox game. My personal favorite in the franchise has always been Star Fox 64. I see the new game taking the aerial shooter back to its classic roots and the heights of Star Fox 64. Throw in some Amiibo compatibility and some exclusive, new Amiibo figures and this game is a guaranteed license to print money.
1. The Legend of Zelda Wii U
[youtube url=”http://youtu.be/SECWlFInyFM”]
The Legend of Zelda series finally makes its debut on the Wii U console. The adventures of Link will finally be realized in glorious high-definition graphics and visuals. I have been looking forward to Legend of Zelda for the Wii U since I first got to preview the game at the Electronic Entertainment Expo way back in 2011. Hyrule Warriors was a good appetizer to the main entree that will be The Legend of Zelda for the Wii U console. I hope Nintendo mixes in some Amiibo compatibility for the title.
Xenoblade Chronicles X?
