Middle-earth Shadow of Mordor Bright Lord DLC: Potential Fantastic Cap to Breakout Game of 2014

Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor

The details were revealed (via Gamespot.com) for the final DLC release for Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor. Shadow of Mordor was one of the breakout games of 2014. Monolith Productions clearly showed that the company was not going to put out a half-baked, execrable licensed video game title. Shadow of Mordor was quite possibly the greatest video game based on The Lord of the Rings franchise. It allowed players an open-world sandbox around Mordor, and it offered an interesting new combat/enemy AI feature called the Nemesis System. The Nemesis System worked out very well and offered players a way to uniquely approach the taking down of Sauron’s armor each time. Over the course of the game’s release, Monolith Productions offered players a hefty amount of free DLC content for the game. The Bright Lord DLC will be the final DLC release for the game. It looks like Monolith is pulling out all the stops for The Bright Lord DLC release. Shadow of Mordor will go out with a bang for its last piece of new DLC content. After the details Monolith Productions revealed, the final DLC will be a great swan song for the game.

The Bright Lord DLC will offer something new and different from the actual game. It allows players to fully take control of Celebrimbor. Celebrimbor was the once great Elven lord and blacksmith. He was the person who forged the great Rings of Power. The game took a bit of creative license with the lore of author JRR Tolkien. Sauron forced Celebrimbor to forge the One Ring. However, at one point, Celebrimbor was able to flee from Sauron. He attempted one last stand against the Dark Lord, utilizing the actual One Ring. This means the DLC will not only allow players to use Celebrimbor, but they will be able to wield the One Ring. This will provide players stronger domination powers for the DLC campaign.

In addition, the DLC campaign is supposed to pit Celebrimbor against the actual Dark Lord Sauron. Hopefully, players will get a more satisfying payoff and boss battle that the original game denied fans. While Shadow of Mordor was a great game, the final boss battles were a bit of a letdown. Hopefully, The Bright Lord DLC can make up for that with a more satisfying fight against Sauron.

The Bright Lord DLC will be released later this year. It does not yet have an official release date. The DLC content will be a part of the Season Pass for the game, or it can be purchased individually.
