There have been quite a few leaks this week for Mortal Kombat. Most of them look quite promising and exciting in terms of what is in store for the final game, which is right around the corner. In the past, developer Ed Boon teased that Kenshi is a playable character. IGN (via NeoGAF) let loose a screenshot from the mobile version of the game with Kenshi in action. Since the image originated from IGN and was promptly taken down, there is a good chance that it was legitimate and released too early. The addition of Kenshi to the game would be fantastic.

Of course, the leak does not automatically confirm that Kenshi is in Mortal Kombat X just yet. At least, he is not guaranteed for the console version. However, if Kenshi is in the mobile version of Mortal Kombat X, there is a good chance he will also be playable for the disc-based version. Kenshi’s son, Takahashi Takeda, is already official as one of the new Kombatants for the roster. Therefore, it would make sense for Kenshi to be in the roster or to make some sort of game appearance. If NetherRealm Studios is going to build a character model with new animations and moves, it is understandable that Kenshi will be in the game.

I have always been a fan of the Kenshi character. He is a former ronin-turned-blind swordsman who fights for Earthrealm. His design is really cool and streamlined with the armor between the dark armor, the sword and his trademark Sento sword. Kenshi would be a great fighter for the roster.

Some other leaked images include the older versions of Sonya Blade, Jax and Johnny Cage. Jax’s daughter, Jacqueline Briggs, is a playable character in the game. Blade and Cage also have a daughter, Cassie Cage, who is a playable character and the new leader of the forces of Earthrealm. I was not definitively expecting Jax, Blade and Cage to be included on the roster. I believed that because their kids were already representing them to some extent; and perhaps, Jax, Blade and Cage were going to sit the game out. Of course, the leaked pictures are not yet confirmed as real. Still, I hope the older classic characters do get to make an appearance in the game. In a fighting game, it seems pointless to build those models and not use them in the actual game.

Mortal Kombat X is due out April 14 for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and Windows PC.
