The Nintendo Amiibo figurines are selling like hot cakes. In the United states alone, over 3.5 million units have sold to date. Looking back at my Nintendo Amiibo character wish list from last year, I realize the list is a bit outdated. Nintendo has now produced Amiibos of all the top characters on my initial wish list. So, I have decided to produce a new list of characters who need to be realized in Amiibo form. Nintendo has promised to turn every character from Smash Bros. into an Amiibo. Based on the figurines of Pac-Man, Mega Man and Sonic the Hedgehog, I have no reason to doubt that proclamation. Here are the amiibo figurines I would like to see next.
5. Jigglypuff (Pokemon)
The immortal Jigglypuff has appeared in every single Super Smash Bros. video game. In short, Jigglypuff is a superstar of this franchise and is well deserving of the Amiibo treatment. Unfortunately, there is still not yet an Amiibo figurine out there.
4. Mewtwo (Pokemon)
Mewtwo joined the Super Smash Bros. a little later as a downloadable character. One fan actually made a custom Mewtwo figurine that was sold on eBay and bids passed $260. Nintendo should rectify this by finally realizing the powerful Pokemon creature in Amiibo form. Mewtwo is one of, if not the most powerful, Pokemon in the entire franchise. It makes sense that fans are jazzed for getting an Amiibo for the character.
3. Duck Hunt Dog and Duck (Duck Hunt)
Having the Dog from Duck Hunt as a playable character in the new Super Smash Bros. game has been a total trip. Duck Hunt is an iconic piece of Nintendo history, and it is a game that is near and dear to my heart. The Duck Hunt dog definitely needs his own Amiibo figurine to truly cap off how awesome his revival for Super Smash Bros. has been.
2. Zero Suit Samus Aran (Metroid)
Certain characters in the Amiibo line have received multiple variants. Link, from The Legend of Zelda, recently got his Toon Link iteration realized in Amiibo form. The Super Mario series of Amiibo figurines offers variants of Mario, Luigi, Bowser, Princess Peach and Yoshi. I say it is a good idea to provide interstellar bounty hunter Samus Aran with her Zero Suit look from the video games for her next Amiibo figurine. This is Samus’ look sans armor, and is still quite iconic–especially for the Amiibo franchise.
1. Ganondorf (The Legend of Zelda)
Both Zelda and Link from The Legend of Zelda have received Amiibo figurines for Super Smash Bros. It is high time for the franchise’s main villain, Ganondorf, to receive his own Amiibo figurine treatment. Nintendo just released the Boss Pack DLC for the Hyrule Warriors video game, which allows players to take the role of Ganondorf (aka Ganon). Hyrule Warriors is also Amiibo compatible, so it makes perfect sense to add a Ganondorf figurine to go with the other Legend of Zelda characters.
