Few games are able to take the fast paced and exciting action found in action games and present it in a game that is playable on Facebook. However, Dungeon Rampage tried to do this exact thing, and for the most part succeeded. This game is simple, but it allows players to fight through dungeons with friends in a very exciting way. This game brings everything that people love about action games, such as unique characters, abilities, and monsters, and allows them to play it with any of there friends on Facebook, giving it a great social aspect.

One of the best parts of this game, and any action game, is of course the gameplay that takes place. From the very first level, players are placed in a dungeon where they have to fight monsters to get to the end. The monsters, as well as various traps, such as spike strips and fire, are numerous, making the fight through the dungeon fun. Another part that makes the game play so much fun is the simplicity of the controls and abilities. Players are given the option to use three weapons, which are controlled by the Z, X, and C keys. Each of these weapons have an ability which can be activated by holding down the corresponding key for a certain amount of time. These controls make the game simple to understand for new players, yet have a bit of creativity for veterans to test out new weapons. The final piece of the gameplay that makes this game exciting to play is the different characters players can play as, as well as the different monsters they can kill. Players start as a Beserker character, yet they are able to unlock new characters, such as the Ranger or Vampire Hunter, as they earn more money. They are also able to unlock different styles of these characters, allowing furthermore customization. These characters are then used to fight a variety of monsters including skeletons, lions, and other nameless monstrosities.

Though the gameplay is very exciting, the best part of this game, in my eyes, is the social aspect. If players do not have friends to play with, they can be grouped up with total strangers. However, they are able to play with friends, which makes the game much more enjoyable. Playing with people you know allows you to communicate with each other better which can make your gameplay experience much more enjoyable. Players are also able to post on their wall when they earn achievements such as leveling up, which is a good way to show your friends where you are in the game.

The social aspect and the high action and unique gameplay make Dungeon Rampage a very excellent game, but like most games it has a few issues. The major issue with this game is the way that the monsters players fight behave. For the most part, the monsters are mindless, and are easy to out maneuver if you are aware enough to do so. The monsters also lack many abilities to make them truly unique. Even if they look unique they still behave in the same way as each other. Also, they tend to glitch when turning corners, making what was a high action fight scene into something that looks silly.

Even with its downfalls, it is a pretty fun Facebook game. The game is able to do something very unique. It successfully combines what gamers love about action games, the simple controls, and unique characters, with the social aspect of Facebook. This combination makes the game very enjoyable and good to play for many, many hours.
